New coat unwrapping

This Topshop textured slouch biker jacket has been on my wishlist for ages and so I decided to get it with my birthday money. I'm in love with it seriously. It has an oversized fit on me anyway because being 5"1 most things are. The texture of the fabric is really weird kind of like porridge and it feels sort of sticky to the touch its hard to explain. I love the biker detailing as it gives an edgy look to what would otherwise be a classic piece. It is quite lightweight and so I will be able to wear it through spring and layer it up for autumn and winter. I'm planning to wear it over almost everything and will feature it in upcoming lookbooks :)

Ombre hair results

So here are the results of my DIY ombre hair :) I am happy with the results overall but I did buy a purple toning shampoo to get rid of the brassy yellow tinge that was left by the bleaching process which I was freaking out about initially. I got the beachy look I wanted and I would repurchase this kit again. The only thing was I am going to need some intense conditioning over the next few weeks to get my hair back to healthy condition again as after the bleaching it feels a bit straw like at the moment!

Ombre Hair

I know the hype about ombre hair has died down and almost every other person you see about town has that harsh bleach line, i have decided to go ahead and try to achieve a more subtle graduated look with the Loreal Preference wild ombres kit.
I am planning on growing out my current hair colour and returning to my dark blonde roots as I am currently having to dye my hair every 4 weeks as any colour fades to a brassy yellow blonde with dark roots, which is really not cute. Also it was costing me £10 a time which I know is a lot less than the salon but still, soon I am going to have to begin saving for university and it is an expense I could do without.
I figured if my hair is ombred then when my root regrowth comes through it will just look like another graduation of colour... well that's what I'm hoping. Other than that I want something to add a bit of life and interest back into my very long hair and I like the beachy look.

I purchased the wild ombre kit in shade No3 which is made for blonde to dark blonde hair. There are a lot of bits to this kit, included are:

  • Instruction leaflet
  • Expert brush
  • Lightening powder
  • Developer creme and applicator
  • Lightening creme
  • Conditioning shampoo
  • Colourist gloves

This is the look I am hoping to achieve, bearing in mind I have never done this before so we will see how it turns out. I will post the results after it's dry!

Belated B-day gifts

In the weeks leading up to a birthday there are precise stages of present planning to make sure you get it right. However with me and my best friend of 5 years, this is taken to a whole new extreme! I'm talking questionnaires, excel spreadsheets, ranking most wanted items ect. When the perfect present has been found the buyer walks around with a smug smile until the day and the receiver begs and pleads to be given a hint. After all that anticipation its not surprising that presents off my best friend are the ones I most look forward to as she knows my taste exactly.
So here is what she got me:

The first item is the maybelline colour tattoo in timeless black, i already own the colour tattoo in two other shades - on and on bronze and permanent taupe although i think the names are different in the US. I had been after a black eye shadow base to intensify colours such as mac cranberry eye shadow after seeing how insane it looked on Pixiwoo's Nic in the Kristen stewart tutorial so this was perfect! The formula of these eye-shadows is amazing as they stay put all day and are really pigmented. I plan to review all the colour tattoos in an upcoming post.

The next item is the Barry M fine glitter dust in shade 22. It is a black loose pigment shadow with finely milled gold glitter. This shade is so beautiful and works really well over the black colour tattoo. I plan on using this in a gold smoky eye and along the lower lash line for added glitter.

I had been on the hunt for the perfect brown/bronze eye liner to use on the lower lash line and in the waterline as I find black can be too harsh and can make the eyes appear smaller, also it always ends up in my inner and outer corner which is not attractive so I was so happy to get this urban decay glide on eye pencil. The formula is pigmented and creamy and really does glide on. I can apply it with ease in the waterline without irritating my sensitive eyes and it lasts well on the water line.

Another present was the Barry M lipgloss in shade 11 which is a beautiful peachy pink shade. I am a huge fan of coral lips in the summer and this gloss complements coral tones perfectly and stops them from translating too red. Also this lipgloss over mac creme cup lipstick is the perfect baby pink lip. Also this product smells AMAZING! Like the pick and mix sweets you get in the cinema, it might not be for everyone but I seriously can't get enough of that smell!

omg I am so spoilt, the last gift was the Urban Decay naked basics palette which for a start just looks beautiful, I mean look at it. The palette consists of 5 neutral matte shades and a shimmery hi-light colour. This palette has become my go to everyday eye look and all the colours are highly pigmented, buttery soft and blend so easily. My favourite combination currently is WOS on the lid naked 2 and faint in the crease, with crave deepening the outer v with Venus as an inner corner hi light. I use foxy to hi light my brow bone. This look is perfect for pairing with bright lips for spring/summer

So that's all my presents of my best friend and I absolutely love every single one, she knows me so well :D

After getting back into dexter, I have fallen for the Miami cool vibe and have developed an obsession with palm print. These jeans are amazing and add instant cool to any minimalistic outfit. The long-line textured cream biker is going to be my next investment I think as it's a classic that will go with any outfit and has a glamorous vibe but the biker detailensures its not too girly. The silver Casio watch was a birthday present from my mum and i cant live without it, I had been after a digital watch as embarrassing as it is, i am so slow at telling the time and there's always that awkward situation where someone asks you and you're stood there trying to figure it out for ages until you give up and awkwardly contort your wrist so they can work it out for themselves..... anyway, yes so for now I am going to focus on improving my wardrobe as at the moment its just a mismatch of my various style
phases over the years. I've set my sights on that coat and will be using my birthday money I think,
so I plan to post some outfit of the days and lookbooks in the future!
